In maternity, risk stratification and continuous monitoring algorithms can flag deterioration earlier and support personalised care pathways.

AI will not replace clinical judgment, but it can extend system capacity when built on federated, governed data. Priorities before April 2026 should include accelerating FDP adoption, funding interoperable projects, mandatory evaluation frameworks, workforce training and transparent patient safeguards.
